Transformers Generation 1

The first collection of Transformers I will be posting are toys from the Generation 1 series.  I used to have a great deal of these toys when I was a kid and this is where my true love for Transformers started.  However, when I was little we moved around quite a bit and pretty much any of the G1 toys I had were lost.  Thanks to re-issues though and e-bay, I have been able to rebuild my collection.  Although most of these are not the original toys from the 1980's, they still take me back to my young days.

The G1 series/line of toys ran from 1984-1991 and actually lasted longer than the cartoon itself.  Most of the toys in these posts you will notice are much closer to their cartoon counterpart in their alternate mode.  The G1 toys had fairly simple transformations compared to the toys of today, but they pretty much lacked any free movement of arms and legs and sometimes the robot modes suffered from their cartoon appearance.  Nevertheless the G1 toys are what started it all and they are by far my favorite series/line of Transformers ever.

The toys in these posts will range from some original toys, Hasbro (USA) re-issues, Takara (Japan) re-issues, and some knock-off figures as well.  While I would love to rebuild my collection with all original figures, financially with what the original toys cost today I can't afford to do so.  I hope you enjoy.

Welcome to my blog

This is the first blog I have ever done and it is all about my Transformer collection.  Some of my earliest memories of toys are me playing with Transformers and ever since then I have been in love with them.  So what now if I'm close to 30 and have more Transformers than I know what to do with, they truly are a passion for me.  I will be attempting to do a daily update adding a new Transformer each day with my own personal review.  Anyone who wants please feel free to visit daily and I hope anyone who does enjoys the posts.
